Biography: Matt Bright was born in Lordswood and has lived in Medway his entire life.
He went to school in Walderslade then furthered his education by attending Horsted Mid-Kent College.
After leaving college Matt worked for Safeway in Princess Park in the bakery department for two years before leaving to become self-employed.
Matt has been self-employed since the age of 22 and now divides his working time between property developing/investing and working within the Transport Industry which involves driving, Transport Manager Duties and tacho analysing.
Matt was first elected in 2007 as Councillor for Princes Park ward, topping the poll with 1068 votes – nearly twice the number of votes polled by the Conservative Party at the previous local election in 2003. Although relatively new to the political scene Matt is very keen to make a real difference to the local community by tackling crime and anti-social behaviour and also reaching out to younger voters who are often forgotten in the political process. Biography: Pat Gulvin was born and bred in Deal - which makes her a "Maid of Kent".
"I moved to Walderslade when I married my husband, Adrian, and we have lived very happily here ever since. For the last 11 years we have lived in Glamis Close with out cat, Molly.
We have two lovely daughters and four fantastic (of course) grandchildren who all live a long way from us - but we do enjoy "kidnapping" them from time to time!
Until 3 years ago I worked for P&O on the Cross Channel Ferries - a job I always enjoyed as every day there were new people to meet. Anyone who has travelled when gale force winds are blowing across the Channel will know to expect the unexpected!
I now work for NatWest at the Customer Service Centre at Chatham Maritime - so I join the long traffic jam in Princes Avenue everyday as I try to get to work.
As a local resident I care passionately about this neighbourhood. I look forward to working with local people as we strive to improve our community in the months and years ahead. My passion is a clean and safe environment and I often attract strange looks as I work my way around the ward picking up litter and scrubbing out graffiti and vandalism.”
