Her two sons, Jon & David, now in their mid 30`s, made use of the opportunities on offer from local schools and Maidstone Grammar School. Both are now married with 3 daughters between them, so Sonia also understands the problems of young families.Sonia has worked for Wright`s Warehouse, Maidstone, for the last 21 years. Always working for independent businesses in the area, she really does understand their problems. She will take a hands-on approach to Snodland Chamber of Commerce and the Snodland Partnership. Sonia has a strong commitment to Chatham & Aylesford Conservative Association and is a member of the Parliamentary Campaign Team that is working to turn the seat Conservative at the next General Election. Cllr Anne Moloney, 7 Sharnal Lane, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5QR Tel: 01634 244601 Email: anne.moloney@tmbc.gov.uk BIOGRAPHY: Anne moved to Snodland from Banbury in 1988. A qualified teacher of English and History, she worked in Australia for 7 years and then in England before training as an Agent with the Conservative Party. Anne enjoys gardening and has an allotment where she grows flowers and vegetables, she also takes a keen interest in the maintenance of the local parks and the level of cleanliness both of parks and paths. Anne is Membership Officer of the Community Association. First Elected to Snodland Town Council in 2003, Anne was re-elected in 2007 and is now Vice Chairman of Snodland Town Council and is also a Borough Councillor representing Snodland West. Working to improve local community facilities is her first priority and she looks forward to working with the many different groups and organisations within Snodland.
Cllr Les Withey, 8 Hegarty Court, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5BW Tel: 01634 249449 Email: les.withey@tmbc.gov.uk BIOGRAPHY: Les Withey, was born in Rotherhithe, South London. He is 71 years and lives with his wife Jilly in Hegarty Court, Snodland. They have been married for 10 years and he has two stepchildren. Between them they have six grandchildren. He joined the political scene only last year when he was elected as Town councillor for Snodland and also Borough councillor on T&MBC. Before that, Les lived in Longfield for 37 years where he and his first wife brought up their four boys, now classified as friends, due to their ages! He served in the Brigade of Guards with The Grenadiers in the early Fifties, coming into the City of London afterwards to learn the cargo shipping trade. He became a director of a successful shipping and forwarding agency for many years and has travelled to most parts of the world in setting up their services. During the 90's, he retired from that business when his wife first became was diagnosed with cancer, although retaining consultancy work with an American shipping company servicing the Caribbean area until 2002. After setting up the Neighbourhood Watch where he now lives, his thoughts are now to try and help others within his ward.
